Collection: AC Compressors

AC compressors usually announce failure with noise — grinding, rattling, or a clutch that won't engage — followed by warm air. New compressors are expensive enough that used is worth considering, especially when the failure was the clutch rather than internal damage.

What to check: the pulley should spin freely by hand with the clutch disengaged, and the clutch should engage firmly. If the old compressor grenaded internally, flush the system — debris kills the replacement.
